Ivan Andersen // Inadequately Maintaned Surfaces // Augustiana, Denmark

23.09.23 – 26.11.23

Opening 23.09.2023

Ivan Andersen’s exhibition Inadequately Maintained Surfaces looks at what is planned and orderly as opposed to that which is random and spontaneous.

The exhibition is based on the period when Princess Louise Augusta lived in the White Mansion (1820-43) – today the premises of Augustiana Art Gallery. Her latter years in the Mansion saw the beginning of Romanticism in Denmark, when the beauty of nature was a favourite subject for Denmark’s Golden Age painters.
