A shared fascination with the scenography’s ability to create false surfaces and seductive illusions using ‘artificial’ backgrounds and sets is at the center of this year’s first exhibition by Absalon Kirkeby, Ivan Andersen, Julie Boserup, and Pernille With Madsen, opening on Saturday, January 13.
All four artists work broadly across materials, media, and techniques with a focus on the manipulation and processing of perspectives, spatial perceptions, and the relationship between surfaces. With photography, painting, collage, installation, and video, the works navigate the interface between fact and fiction, the two-dimensional and the spatial.
Exhibition runs from 13.01 – 10.03.24
